Ladies Repeat at Porky & Rocket’s Tournament

The annual Porky & Rocket’s Revenge Scramble took place Saturday on a very wet golf course at South Muskoka but the weather didn’t dampen the spirits of 130 plus players who came together to honour the memory of George (Porky) Mann and Dale (Rocket) Sander. Porky and Rocket were both long-time members and huge promoters  of the Club. By all accounts a good time was had by all.

In the Ladies Division Sheila Burgess, Kathy Kent, Judy Thorne and Carol Wilson repeated as champions,  winning a playoff against the team of Collette Endress, Louise Major, Joan Grenier and Joan Habib.

A playoff was also needed to decide the Men’s flight with the team of Bryan Beeson, Greg Mann, Wayne Dmytryshyn & Jamie MacDonald defeating Joe Conway, Steve Boyes, Mike Goulding & Renne Bakema after they both scored 12 under par 60 in regulation play.

In the Mixed Division a new team consisting of Jo-Ann & Buck Inglis with Rick Thorne and Olga Fleming found the right chemistry and shot an exceptional 65, 3 strokes ahead of a three-way tie for second place.

The festivities ended with a steak BBQ and prize presentation. Thanks to the Sander and Mann families for their support and participation in the tournament.
