Young Team Wins Sportsmen’s Bonspiel

The Oshawa team of Connor, Russ and Owen Duhaime with Todd Johnston captured the Muskoka Mechanical A flight trophy of the 2010 Sportsmen’s Bonspiel. They defeated perennial contender Gerry Pinkney of Annandale CC in Ajax. In the B Championship, sponsored by Muskoka KIA, London’s Scott Corby made a surprising double raise take-out to defeat Andy Nelan 5-4. Barry Moylan, also from Annandale, bested South Muskoka’s Adam Wallace in an extra end, for the Gagnon’s YIG C trophy, while Ian Conn of Oshawa G&CC won the Labatt Breweries D event over Doug Millar’s Milton CC rink.
