2009 Greavette Tournament Results

Les and Marilyn Rozsa teamed with friends Lorne and Marilyn Motton to capture the 2009 edition of the Greavette Mixed golf tournament, eking out a narrow victory by a margin of less than half a stroke. The Greavette has a challenging format with each couple playing 6 holes of alternate shot, followed by 6 holes of scramble and a final 6 holes of net better ball. The team score represents the best results of both couples.

Kevin and Jill Chilvers teamed with guests Carrie and Brent Reid to win the Cadillac flight, while second place went to the David & Kathy Kent with Carol and Andy Wilson. Former Junior member Erin Fleming joined up with Jon Miller, Paul Addie and Linda Brooker to win the Buick Flight. Runners up in the Buick were Noelle & Jamie Hopkins with Cathy and Colin Clark.

The tournament theme this year was country & western, and players eagerly participated with a wide array of western attire and some wild roping and horseshoe contests took place on the putting green after Friday’s practice round.

During this year’s event it was announced that beginning in 2010 it will be re-named The Tim Greavette Memorial MIxed Golf Tournament, to honour the memory of Tim, who passed away very unexpectedly last fall after a short illness.
