Porky & Rocket’s Scramble Features Great Scoring

The annual Porky & Rocket’s Revenge Scramble took place last Saturday at the Club, an event to honour the memory of George “Porky” Mann and Dale “Rocket” Sander. Both men were huge boosters of South Muskoka and long-time members who left us far too soon. The Mann and Sander families sponsor the event which has been sold out for as long as we can remember.

This year the Ladies Division was won by the team of Kathy Kent, Sheila Burgess, Catherine Aitken and Judy Thorne who recorded a 4 under par 68. In the Mixed Division, Sue & Rick Nelson teamed with daughter Jesse Sandhu and Brian Dickson for a 7 under par 65, just edging Len & Midge Sculthorp with their partners Candice & Grant Geddes, who shot 66. The Men’s Division featured some great scoring, and in the end “experience” won out over enthusiasm as the team of Bob & Rob Heath, Dave Robinson & Bill Fleming took the title with an outstanding 14 under par 58, a single stroke ahead of Mark Handrigan, Joe Nelson, Ken Sorensen and Brian Hamblin.
