2009 Early Bird Tournament

The 2009 Muskoka KIA Early Bird tournament took place on Saturday May 23rd to launch the 2009 member event schedule at South Muskoka,  with a field of 120 players in 4 Divisions. Mother Nature cooperated and provided perfect conditions for the two player team event. The teams played the challenging alternate shot format on the front 9 and a scramble format on the back.

In the Junior Division, Brandon Neville and Justin MacDougall combined for a net score of 54.5 to claim the title. Kathy Kent and Carol Wilson won the Ladies trophy by shooting 83 gross for 56 net. The Mixed Division was won by Judy and Rick Thorne with a sparkling 72 gross for net 53. The father and son team of Larry & Mike Dawson topped the Men’s flight with a gross of 81 for net 58.5. Larry’s grandson also competed in the Junior division, making the Dawsons the only three generation entrants in the event.

Paul Mascarin and Gary Williams of Muskoka KIA sponsored the event for the second year, and Williams entertained some guests at the tournament while Mascarin looked after business at the dealership. Their support again this year was much appreciated.
